With the continued speculation surrounding Glen Kamara’s future at Ibrox, one former Rangers legend has revealed he believes the current moves that the club are looking to make in the transfer market could be pointing to the idea that the Finland international is set to leave the club this summer.

The 25-year-old will head to the UEFA 2020 European Championships this summer with his country as they look to try and escape a group that consists of Denmark, Russia and Belgium in what will be one of the most challenging group stages there is.

However, whether he will return to Ibrox for the upcoming season as Steven Gerrard’s team look to defend their Scottish Premiership title and play in the UEFA Champions League remains to be seen at the moment. Indeed, the Gers will be a highlight for many sports betting and using the best max free bets that they can when they are able to find them, as the club have proven to be incredibly rewarding over the last 12 months.

There have been concerns regarding his current contract situation as the midfielder and despite the fact that there is still two years left to go, there are no signs that he will extend it yet, which has prompted Barry Ferguson to suggest that the Gers could be about to sell him on.

Speaking to The Go Radio Football Show (via The Scottish Sun), he said: “That could be a sign that Glen Kamara might not be committing to Rangers, hence the fact that this guy (Salih Ozcan) has been mentioned with a move.

“I don’t know too much about him. He’s playing at a decent club, Cologne.

“But going back to it, it looks like Kamara won’t be extending his contract.

“And if not you need to go and cash in, and bring in another midfielder.

“Kamara will be going into the final 12 months of his contract (next summer) and has already been offered a new contract.

“You don’t want players going into the final 12 months.”

Indeed, it is understood that Arsenal are keen on bringing one of their former academy players back to the Emirates Stadium, although whether a move happens still remains to be seen.

With the current situation being as it is, Rangers could potentially look to cash in on Kamara – a player who they only spent £50k on signing from Dundee after he failed to commit his future to that club then – and his performances for the Light Blues will have only seen his valuation eclipse that ten-fold (if not more).

Whilst nothing is likely going to happen until after the 2020 UEFA European Championships this summer, Rangers could be in a rather powerful position if they do decide to sell Kamara, especially if he does not want to extend his stay at Ibrox and the current Scottish Premiership champions any longer than 2023.
