Ex-Rangers chief thinks Huddersfield will sell Gers-linked Juninho Bacuna
Alex McLeish has tipped Huddersfield Twon to “cash in” on their prized asset Juninho Bacuna amid rumoured interest from Rangers.
Speaking to Football Insider, the former Gers head coach suggested the Ibrox recruitment team may have pinpointed a good value deal in the player.
He told Football Insider: “He’s emerged at Huddersfield who have struggled a wee bit at the start of the season.
“You tend to feel that they’ll cash in on any of their highest-level players and that it’ll get done.
“It sounds as if he’s catching the interest of the big guns, that’s down to the recruitment people and the analysts at the clubs nowadays.”
Rangers interested in securing services of 26-year-old Scottish defender
Rangers are in the running for Oostende centre-half Jack Hendry as the club plot a possible summer swoop, according to 90min.
The 26-year-old Scotland international signed for the Belgian outfit for under £2 million earlier this summer.
He has a low exit clause under £5 million, and that has attracted the Gers alongside Torino and a number of Premier League clubs, with De Kustboys prepared to quickly cash in if a proposal is made.
Ryan Kent’s Rangers buy-out clause revealed
The online media outlet claims the 24-year-old star, who the Whites bid £12m-plus for in the past, has an exit clause of £20 million.
Their admiration of the Liverpool academy product is said to be “no secret”, with The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell saying that he is someone the Argentine manager personally admires and, once Marcelo Bielsa takes a liking to certain stars, he’s said to become fixated on them.
However, considering the club have allegedly spent the last few weeks haggling over a £10m price for Huddersfield Town star Lewis O’Brien, perhaps it is slightly far-fetched to expect Leeds United to splash out £20 million on Ryan.
Rangers losing transfer race for former Chelsea central defender
Rangers-linked star Gary Cahill is set for a medical with the EFL Championship side Bournemouth, according to a recent report, putting to an end any speculation of the veteran arriving in Glasgow this month.
The Gers had been linked with a swoop for Steven Gerrard’s former England teammate but, considering the options available at the club, never seemed like a realistic option for Gary.
