Rangers daily news: Agreement over Colombian ace, Joey Veerman update and more

Rangers turn down £5m transfer offer for 19-year-old star

Everton have seen their proposal of £5m for Rangers ace Nathan Patterson knocked back, according to a report from the Liverpool Echo.

The 19-year-old star turned heads with his showings for the Glaswegians towards the end of last campaign.

Nathan made three starts among seven league appearances and has enjoyed 17 outings across all competitions for Rangers and he was called up to the Scotland roster for this summer’s European Championship.

The same report is uncertain as to whether the Toffees will raise their offer for the ace.

The former Sunderland attacker gives his verdict on future of Alfredo Morelos

Kevin Phillips has tipped the Colombia international Alfredo Morelos to stay at Rangers past the end of the transfer market despite fresh interest in Turkey.

“Stevie [Gerrard] and his staff will be waking up every morning thinking: ‘Can we afford to let him go?’,” Kevin told Football Insider.

“Who else is going to score these important goals? They’ll have to go out and spend a lot of money to get anyone remotely similar.

“If he’s scoring goals and he’s happy – then keep him at the club.”

Heerenveen chief issues update on Rangers transfer target’s future

Heerenveen’s Joey Veerman has been issued a contract reminder by the club’s new sporting director after being linked with the Gers all summer long.

Ferry de Haan told ESPN: “As it stands now, I’m counting on that, yes. As far as we know, there is currently no movement around him.

“I think it is good that he has ambitions. And I also think it is good that he expresses those ambitions. A club like Heerenveen needs good transfers, that has been proven in the past. Joey still has a three-year contract and he knows it.”

Rangers strike deal for highly-rated South American attacking sensation

Rangers have reached an agreement for the signature of 19-year-old Colombian attacker Juan Diego Alegria from Finnish side FC Honka, according to The Athletic.

Steven Gerrard is preparing to add one more forward to his roster this summer with the imminent of the arrival of Alegria from the Veikkausliiga outfit.

The Gers have been working on a summer deal to sign the youngster for a while but they are finally prepared to get the deal over the line.
