Official: Rangers snap up 24-year-old Dutch midfielder Juninho Bacuna

Rangers have purchased Juninho Bacuna from the Championship club Huddersfield on a permanent deal.

He joins the Scottish Premiership winners after three seasons at John Smith’s Stadium, where he netted 12 goals in 107 appearances for the Terriers.

The versatile midfielder, who is the younger brother of Cardiff forward Leandro Bacuna, becomes Gers fourth signing of the summer – joining John Lundstram, Fashion Sakala and Nnamdi Ofoborh at Ibrox.

Former PL keeper on Rangers’ potential new asking price for Ianis Hagi

Rangers may be forced to cash in on Ianis Hagi for less than his existing asking price in order to balance the books after their UEFA Champions League exit, that’s the view of ex-Premier League goalie Paddy Kenny.

“They are going to be under more pressure to sell now,” he told Football Insider about the 22-year-old Romanian star.

“If they are holding out for that £9.3m, they must be doing that for a reason. Maybe they will go a bit lower, £8m, maybe.”

It is stated that Sevilla and Lazio have both seen offers of just less than £6m snubbed for the player who signed permanently in 2020.

Rangers set to miss out on landing Red Star Belgrade star

Rangers have been mentioned to Red Star Belgrade forward and Montenegrin international Mirko Ivanic but early talk of a transfer may be scuppered by a fresh deal.

Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport claimed that the Gers had tabled a €3.5m (£3m) offer for the star, who scored 20 goals and grabbed 16 assists in 48 games across all competitions, with Mirko’s 16 goals in the Serbian Super League helping his team to 108 points, with the bid believed to be tempting because of Red Star’s Champions League status.

However, according to the latest reports coming out of Serbia and apparently originating from in the know Rajko Mitic Stadium insiders, a reported deal could be short-lived with the attacker set to be offered a new contract.

Claims from the likes of Meridan and Sportska Centrala state that the club’s board wants to keep the player at all costs, offering him a contract extension.
