Rangers exploring possibility of bringing back David Bates

Rangers have reportedly been linked with a shock move to re-sign centre-half David Bates, but league rivals Hearts have now submitted an enquiry for him.

That is according to The Edinburgh Evening News, who report that Hearts are interested in getting a new central defender in before the transfer deadline.

Meantime, he has actually been linked with a transfer back to Rangers. Homme du Match in France stated that Brentford were interested in Bates, but they were facing stern competition with the Gers.

Rangers took Bates from Raith Rovers five years ago, spending two seasons with the club before moving after 28 matches in the famous blue shirt.

Premier League club not giving up on signing Rangers star

Leeds United remain keen on signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara as the summer transfer market nears its close.

Reports in the latest weeks and months have stated that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are interested in landing the Finland international this summer, but it now appears that they’ll have to see off some intense competition.

TEAMtalk report that along with them, the likes of fellow PL sides Wolves, West Ham and Newcastle are all understood to be monitoring developments as Rangers try and tie him down to a fresh contract.

Given that the Whites’ interest in Glen first surfaced way back in October amid reports that a transfer could be made in the January transfer market, a late deadline day beating swoop for him would surely go down well with Marcelo.

Rangers on alert as Liverpool have ‘keen interest’ in 19-year-old star

Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are considering a move for Rangers full-back Nathan Patterson, according to a recent Scottish Sun report.

It’s stated that the Reds began tracking the player at the beginning of the year and are holding a ‘keen interest’ in the player.

However, it is reported that right-back is not a priority position for the German tactician Jurgen Klopp right now, given that the manager already has the England ace Trent Alexander-Arnold and the Welsh prodigy Neco Williams at his disposal.

The Gers talent is dynamic and strong defensively in attack, while it is easy to see the Reds chief admiring his athleticism and energy levels.
