Former Rangers left-back Michael Ball believes that Glen Kamara is likely to depart from Ibrox ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The Finland international has been one of the Gers’ best players over the last two years, however, with his contract set to expires in 2023 and growing interest in his services, he has been linked with a departure from the Ibrox.

According to Give Me Sport, Everton Arsenal, West Ham and Brentford have all weighed up moves for the player, and the lure of the Premier League could tempt him to depart from the Scottish giants.

Speaking to Football FanCast, Ball said, “It’s like every transfer you’ve got to be careful, tick every box that you feel personally is going to help yourself develop. He might feel another year at Rangers might help him develop a bit more.

“So, fingers crossed he does stay at Rangers, but I think it’s very, very doubtful with the rumours that we’re listening to right now.”

Kamara has been one of Steven Gerrard’s favoured players at the club labelling him ‘fantastic’.

With two years left on his current deal, this may be the only window the Gers can cash in on him as in January teams do not usually tend to shell out big money.

It’s looking unlikely that he wants to remain at Rangers for a long time as he is keen on signing a top-class team which is understandable as he attracts interests from the Premier League sides.

The Gers have signed John Lundstram as our recognised first-team playmaker who will strengthen Steven Gerrard’s starting XI, however, Kamara’s exit could mean we have to sign someone else.

Heerenveen midfielder Joey Veerman would be the ideal player to bring in, however, recent reports claimed that Feyenoord are on the verge to sign him.

According to The Daily Record, Herrenven are holding out for £8.5million to let go of the player and have already turned down a £4.2million bid from Rangers.

This could prove to be a tad steep, however, if the Gers are to sell Kamara for close to £20million, it would go a long way to help bring Veerman to the team.
